Microwave Digestion เป็นการย่อยด้วยกรดแบบ Wet digestion จะทำในภาชนะปิด โดยเติมกรดลงในตัวอย่างและให้ความร้อนด้วยคลื่นไมโครเวฟ ซึ่งการย่อยโดยใช้คลื่นไมโครเวฟสามารถย่อยสลายตัวอย่างทั้งที่เป็นสารอินทรีย์และอนินทรีย์ ซึ่งจะใช้ระยะเวลาย่อยน้อย และปลอดภัยต่อผู้วิเคราะห์เพราะไม่ต้องสัมผัสกับตัวอย่างหรือไอกรดขณะย่อย
